Dreamlife Photography Melbourne NIGHTMARE

My husband and I engaged Dreamlife Melbourne to provide photography and video services at our wedding on 06/01/2010.
We were promised high quality photos, album, 5 enlargements and a fully edited 1 hour DVD highlight of our wedding for $7000 in cash.
Over the last 1.5 years and having paid $6300 in cash for their services to date we have no album, enlargements or the DVD.
We spent months going back and forth trying to get a draft album ready - the product provided was far below the standards we were promised (wrong photos put in wrong places, duplicate photos everywhere, numerous emails and phone calls trying to solve the issue, etc.). At this stage we are still waiting for the printed album.
Our contract provides for 5 enlargements, we have provided the photos we want enlarged back on 29/11/2011 and still we have not been provided with these.
Regarding our wedding DVD we provided instructions and a song CD as per Dreamlife request in order for them to be able to edit the video footage, also on 29/11/2011, in person and followed with an email confirmation. According to their contract, they had 25 days to provide us with a DVD draft. When in March 2011 we enquired what is happening to our DVD, we were told that we need to give them a CD with songs via email 28/03/2011. My husband then called them and explained that we had provided the song CD and instructions 5 months before, they apologised and said they will have our draft ready shortly. We were then given a 15 minute highlight DVD despite our contract and agreement stating that we purchased 1 hour highlight DVD. Following this and many emails and phone calls back and forth they provided us with a 1 hour highlight draft which did not work. Then we went and picked up another copy which again did not work. Then they finally sent us a copy which is working however the DVD does not follow any of our instructions, it has 2 sections which are completely bank whilst the sound is still on, 90% of our instructions were not followed, they did not capture the moments that we asked for in the highlight.
We have since contacted them via email, telephone and text messages to try to resolve this issue with no luck.
Having done a lot of research I have come across many customer experiences similar to mine about this company that unfortunately I was not aware of at the time we engaged them to provide photography and videography service for our wedding.
We have now had to enagge a legal representative as they are not responding to us and file a complaint with Consumer Affairs as well start work on a court case...

  1. To whom it may concern,

I write to clarify that Dreamlife Photos & Video does not have a customer named Ana with a wedding on the 6th of January 2010.

We would appreciate if the blogger would voluntarily take down this post or legal action will be taken against the publisher of the blog, for defamation and libel.

    Regards,

  2. I would suggest to anyone looking to book Dreamlife to think again. My husband and I had one of the worst experiences ever!

The initial consultation was good. Although we were told that we'd get a practice shoot/shot with our photographer before the day - never happened.
Wedding day came, photographer showed up, he was nice although for some reason didn't make it to our ceremony on time and missed all the shots of us girls arriving our walk down the aisle (tried to recreate this later in the day - UMM the moment was lost!!). Took over 1000 photos - so many of them were multiple shots, not great angles and struggled to pick 150 we were happy with for our prints.
Wasn't until after our ceremony finished that we noticed that our videographer didn't show up. Our coordinator from our reception location called him and he said that he forgot and hung up on her. He ended up showing up to our wedding at 8.30pm!!!!! (Again, lost the most important part of our day and more than half of the whole wedding).
We were offered 'compensation' after the wedding. Although this was a nice gesture, we still forked out a lot of money for what we had originally booked and paid for and in no way was this 'compensation' for the way the most important day of our lives was handled by Dreamlife.
There is a lot more that I can say about the way things were also handled after the wedding, but I think that I will leave my comments here.

As I said, please reconsider booking Dreamlife for your big event.
